Conquering Fears

Colton has never really been a big fan of Tom, our dog. He's always been kind of afraid of him, and hesitant to be in the backyard when Tom was out. We understand that, sometimes Tom is just a little bit too much for children. He's a great dog, but he is a dog.

Not too long ago, however, something amazing happened. Colton decided that Tom wasn't so bad!

In fact, Colton decided that he actually liked Tom! And in case you can't tell from the picture below, Tom likes Colton too.

Now, instead of running inside whenever he sees Tom around, Colton invites Tom to come and play with him, to walk with him and to rest with him.

It's a beautiful thing to see a little boy take a big step forward like this.
He's facing his fears.
And conquering them.

 

Now, Colton can even introduce other children to Tom. He showed Mollie how to rub Tom's furry coat gently the other day, and we're so proud of him for taking initiative like that.

We're so happy for you and your new best friend, Colton. You and Tom are going to have many fun adventures together!
