The first thing we noticed about Talley when she arrived was not her yellowish eyes, symptoms of the severe GI condition she has been diagnosed with, but her sorrowful eyes. Talley was abandoned when she was 4-months old, old enough for a baby to sense the sudden lack of a mama's arms and the warmth of a family. She arrived into our care this past July and since then we have seen one of the most beautiful and remarkable transformations in her little heart.
She's got a smile and a brightness in her eyes. She's got love.
Because of Talley's compromised medical situation, much of her care has come through our Acute Care fund. Just a few weeks ago Talley was released from the hospital, after being in ICU for a few days. She's a sick little lady and we're doing all that we can to get her the treatment and surgeries that she needs, but right now it's a waiting game for Miss Talley. She might get sick again and need to be admitted into the hospital. We hope that she doesn't ever get sick again, but you know babies...
In honor of the 3rd day of Chinese New Year, we want to share three precious pictures with you. Three pictures that (along with the before/today shot above) tell the story of one little girl's transformation and hope.

Those shots blow you away, don't they? Let's see if we can meet our goal today, the 3rd day of Chinese New Year!
