Filling Out

It's incredible to see how far Annabel has come. In September we posted this blog post about her being released from the hospital after two months of treatment and surgery in PICU. You can read her Amazing Story here. When Annabel got sick recently, her heath was still so compromised that she needed to be admitted into the intensive care unit again. We missed her sweet, ever-unfolding spirit and her giggle and those fast filling-out cheeks. Annabel was in the hospital for nearly a month, and was released from ICU last Friday. Just look at those cheeks!

The hospital sent her home with instructions to administer oxygen if she seemed distressed and cried. Annabel? Cry? We were a bit shocked, but then again, being in an ICU unit might not be the most enjoyable experience for a baby who loves cuddles and lullabies. A few minutes of reminding Annabel of just how wonderfully special and treasured she was and this is what we saw...

Pure happiness. We can't wait to see what the next weeks bring in this now-six-month-old treasure.

  1. You must just kiss those cheeks all day long! She looks like she's thriving. How is Alea doing?
