Whenever a child enters our care, we can usually see the pain and hurt that they have been through. It's heartbreaking to look into their eyes and see the kind of lost-ness that only abandonment can cause.
When Talley arrived, the deep sadness in her eyes was strikingly obvious. She bore a sorrow that no child should ever have to bear.
But we are seeing a change. It's a small transformation, not nearly big enough to be called "a transformation" yet, but today there is some life in her eyes. And we have seen smiles, smiles that brought tears of joy into our eyes.
Something about being loved... it's already working a miracle in this miracle-desperate life. As we pour love into Talley's precious life, we wait expectantly to see even more transformation. It's going to be beautiful.
