NDNorth: Meet Evangeline!

We met little Evangeline just a few days after she was admitted into the orphanage, this past April. The orphanage guessed that she was about six months old at that time, which means she has just recently celebrated her first birthday!

Here's a picture of Evangeline the day we met her - isn't she adorable? She wasn't feeding very well, but is doing so much better now.

Check out her expression when we told her that she was going to join our project inside the orphanage! Pure joy.

"What? You mean I get to hang out with my friend Hannah again? We arrived at the orphanage the same week, and are only 10 days apart in age!"

Evangeline has a neurological disorder that makes her muscles really tight. She has trouble staying in position, and needs lots of massages, positioning and therapy.

We've spent the last week working with Evangeline's nannies to help them understand her needs, and to teach them ways to relax her and place her in positions where she can develop and make progress. Early intervention for little ones like Evangeline is so important!

Welcome to the family, Evangeline! We are so happy to have you with us for this time in your life, and hope that it won't be too long until you have a daddy and mommy for your own.
