It is always encouraging to visit the baby room and see that
the kids have made progress. Because of better nutrition, physical therapy, and
love, these children are reaching developmental milestones in the New Day North
room. Each of their lives are changing for the better.
This week, it was exciting to see how much Kristiana was
crawling and trying to communicate. She really enjoys looking at books and
playing with puzzles. Good work, Kristiana! You are such a joy.
When Kristiana first arrived at the orphanage, in April, she was assessed to have language at about the 6 month level. Her gross motor skills weren't much better. While she still has a long way to go, and her special needs are going to make things more challenging for her, the video below demonstrates so much amazing progress in our sweet girl.
- she's motivated
- she's laughing
- she's communicating with sounds
- she's crawling across the floor
- she's determined and proud of herself and so so happy
