New books have arrived

The time of isolation has blocked the outside world. The children's books have been read many times, over and over. Listening to the same content seems to have lost its appeal.

After hearing that the children needed more picture books, a group of local mothers bought several large boxes of picture books for the children and sent them to the projects.

All kinds of beautiful new picture books aroused the curiosity of the children, and they gathered around to see, not wanting to miss a single wonderful page.

Looking at the picture books Sam, Abner and Cyrus began to recognize words!

Sam loves to study. When the new books arrived, his nannie found a few books for him specifically. He treasured them and protected them every time they were read. He was careful not to wrinkle the pages.

The new books included storybooks, children's songs, and poems. Sam and Abner are happy because they can continue to learn while the school is closed during the epidemic. Their nanny taught them to recite Tang poetry and recognize words daily. Sam already knows some simple words, and Abner is also very happy to learn.

Amos was also very excited when he saw the books. Although it is difficult for him to move, his nanny knows he loves to hear stories and look at the pictures so she made sure to set time aside to read to him.

The new books brought so much joy for the two brothers, James and Freddy. After completing their homework, they looked forward every day to choosing a book to read. After choosing a book, they would walk to their “special place” by a window where they could bask in the sun while reading. From time to time they would also discuss interesting pictures in the book. It was a special time for them to relax and dream of what could be!

Indeed, reading is a happy time and Kai and Samuel have confirmed this. They love to read books, and their concentration is very focused. When it is time to eat, they reluctantly put down the "treasures" in their hands. When reading they will often see something particularly interesting and will look at each other to see if the other one noticed.

As the children immerse themselves in the books, opening new doors, we are excited they have the opportunity to go places they have never been.

“Reading gives us some place to go when we have to stay where we are.”
