Sweet Senses

Elizabeth's been learning about the 5 senses in Science class. One of her projects dealing with that had a recipe to make some delicious cookies called "Russian Tea Cakes."

This project used each of the 5 senses.

Touch--mixing the ingredients together with her hands and then rolling them into balls.

Smell--the aroma of these wonderful cookies baking in the oven.

Sight--Wow, look at those beautiful cookies!

Taste--trying them--the best part of all!

Hearing--ok, this one is a bit of a stretch, but hearing everyone say "These are great cookies, Elizabeth!!

She had a great time making these cookies and we all enjoyed eating them too!

Princess Claire

She loves to wear dresses and have her hair done.

She carries herself regally, with elegence and grace.

So, when we dressed her up in the Cinderella dress that was sent "just for her," we suddenly realized who she really is.

She's a princess.

Safe and Sound

Roy was only here for a few days before he had to be admitted into the hospital with pnemonia. He just came back this week and savors being held tight and close.

It's good to have you home, Roy.

One Little Duck Went Out To Play

Our little duckling has grown up! Samuel was outside while the duck was loose and they had a lot of fun chasing each other. Well, at least Samuel had a good time, we're not so sure about the poor duck.

First the duck chased him...

Then Samuel's nanny caught the nervous looking duck so that Samuel could pet him.

Then the duck got loose, so Samuel had to chase after him. Have you noticed Samuel's shirt yet? It says, "Derby Ducks". How appropriote!

Try to watch this video without giggling. It's impossible, isn't it?

To the Zoo Again!

We went to the Wildlife Park again last Friday! Don't forget to check out all of the amazing pictures on our scrapbook.

William and Cora make just about the most perfect foster brother and sister team. Don't they look charming together? They were getting a good look at the kangaroos.

When Timothy heard the llamas spitting he said, "Bless you!" He mistook their spitting for sneezes. The kids got to feed some of the llamas grass and branches, which was a highlight for many of them.

We celebrated the day with a special lunch of hamburgers, french fries and juice. Lucy Kate enjoyed every last bite of her hamburger. Check out the look on her face, do you think that she'll be a McDonald's fan when she goes to the US?

Jace took some flying leaps out of the bus, thanks to his buddy. We are so grateful to the team from Lee University who sponsored this trip to go see the animals. We made sure to schedule the animal adventure for while they were here, so they were able to come too.

The children had a blast on this trip, where do you think we should go next?
