Happiness is

The arrival of a new life is always accompanied by joy and excitement, it is also full of expectations. However, some lives begin in pain because of congenital diseases. But who can say that there is no chance of hope and happiness? Over the years, countless children have regained their happiness and hope here at NDFH.

Little Violet suffered from congenital heart disease and came to NDFH just ten days after she was born. She is a very sweet little girl and has brought us many happy moments.

Happiness is:
Wearing masks, I can still recognize you!

Due to the COVID pandemic, Violet needed to be isolated after returning from surgery in Beijing. As her main nanny, the first time we saw each other after two months, was in the isolation room five meters apart. The nurse in the isolation room picked her up and pointed to me in the distance. Violet turned her eyes in my direction and saw me, and immediately showed a weak smile. Children are often braver than us adults. Seeing Violet’s smile and appearance touched me deeply.

Happiness is:

I understand the meaning of every little action you make!

After Violet finished eating, if there were milk stains around her mouth, she would keep shaking her head from side to side until her nanny wiped off the milk stains, and then she would calm down.

When Violet was almost seven months old, she became interested in the food adults ate. When the nannies were eating, she would raise her eyebrows, stare at the food in their hands, and put her fingers in her mouth as if she was eager to try their food. Don’t worry little one, when you grow up, there are many delicious foods waiting for you to taste!

When Violet is sleepy, she usually doesn’t cry, but will rug her eyes. Her nanny understands right away that she is sleepy and wants to be held. Lying in her nanny’s arms she falls asleep dreaming sweet dreams.

Happiness is:

Mama feeds a little slower and you can't wait!

For the nannies, a happy moment is seeing their children eating and growing well.

When Violet was eight months old, she could start solid food, when it was time to eat Violet was very happy when she saw her nanny walking over with her small bowl, shouting, and laughing excitedly. When eating infant rice noodles, she could hardly wait for her nanny to feed her and would anxiously grab her nanny's hand with her little hand and put it in her mouth. After eating, she looked happy and satisfied. Seeing Violet eating so well, her nanny was very excited.

Happiness is:

Remembering all the changes!

From drinking milk to eating solids, from lying down to sitting up and crawling, the growth and changes of children happen daily.

Nine-month-old Violet has begun to crawl, and she has become quite fast. She will quickly crawl in the direction of toys, or the direction of her nanny. When she gets tired or reaches her destination, she will sit up, waiting for her mother to pick her up or grab a toy and start playing.

Every time we see Violet, we always want to pull her close, putting our cheeks together, and kissing her forehead, and we can't help but smile. Violet loves hugs and will look with love in her eyes at her nanny. We hope that with our help she will grow up healthy and happy!

Happiness is:

Trivial daily life, ordinary bits, and pieces!

May the daily life of the children bring you happiness!
