Planting Flowers!

Every year Cummins donates money for flowers and then comes to help us plant everything.
The flowers arrived and everybody got to work planting them!

Owen and Catherine were a huge help.

The little kids may not have been the biggest helpers, but they sure are cute!

We are very thankful for their generous donations and hard work and enjoy the flowers all summer long!

International Women's Day 2018

March 8th is a day to honor and celebrate women around the world. Here at New Day we are blessed to work alongside so many phenomenal women. In China Women's Day is celebrated by giving women half of a day off work, and we want to acknowledge how amazing the women of New Day are.

Mother Teresa said, “I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” The women of New Day are casting ripples one child at a time and changing the world because of it.

Women like our nannies. They work tirelessly and love enormously. The nannies care for the children as if they were their own and give them the individual attention they deserve. The nannies spend countless hours away from their own families next to hospital beds and sacrifice daily to care for the children. As the children that they love are adopted they continually open their hearts to the new children that arrive. They provide care, comfort, and unconditional love each and every day.

Women like our foster mamas. They gladly open their homes to children and love them like they are their own. The foster mamas teach their children how to love and what it means to be in a family. They are the ones that put the children to bed at night and are there when they wake up in the morning. Our foster mamas are some of the most selfless and joyful people we know and the have changed the world in ways that they have never known.

Women like our medical and therapy staff. These women spend countless hours going to appointments, meeting with doctors, and researching in order to provide the best care possible. They make therapy fun and the children love therapy time because of them.

Women like our teachers and support staff. The teachers not only teach the children their numbers and colors, but they also teach manners, kindness, and most importantly love. The support staff clean, cook, and make sure everything is in order. Without these women things wouldn't be the same.

Women like our office staff and volunteers. These women are often behind the scenes and tirelessly work to make sure everything goes smoothly. They daily pour themselves out to make sure the children know just how loved they are.

The women at New Day are daily casting stones that are creating ripples that we truly believe are changing the world!

A Visit With Faith

Hi! I'm Faith. I live with a foster family so I don't come to the foster home everyday, but today my foster mom brought me and my foster brother, Ryan, for a visit!

One of my favorite toys are balls, and this green one is my favorite.

Tom looks pretty interested in my ball, and I'll show it to him, but I don't want to share it.

This is Ryan, he may be as big as me, but he is my little brother.

Ryan is learning to walk, but he still needs to hold onto a grown ups hands.

Mom thinks I should throw the ball, but I'd rather just hold it.

When we go back outside Ryan gets to visit with some of his friends.

Ok mom, I think we had a good visit and it's time to go home. See you next time!

3 Little Men and 2 Little Ladies

In the past month we have had 5 new arrivals so we wanted to take an opportunity to introduce them to you!

Charlie is 9 months old and was born with a heart defect. When he first arrived he was a little reserved but it didn't take long for us to see his big smiles!

Charlie is super observant and enjoys cuddling with his nannies. We are excited to see him continue to grow and learn new things.

Abner is 5 months old and was born with a heart defect.

It didn't take too long for Abner to be surrounded by his adoring big 'brothers' and 'sisters'!

Abner's heart surgery will be scheduled soon as we look forward to seeing the difference that makes in his life.

Faith just turned 1 year! She was born with a heart defect.

Faith is a sweet girl with a quiet personality. She loves to be held and is starting to explore the world around her.

Anna is 6 months old. Anna was born with an ophthalmic issue and a heart defect.

Anna is continuing to explore her new environment and we love seeing her sweet little personality.

Stuart is 5 months old and was born with GI and urological issues.

Stuart quickly won everyone's hearts with his big observant eyes and beautiful smile!

We are honored to care for these 5 newest additions. We know that they have challenges ahead, but we also know the difference that love, laughter, and cuddles will make in their lives!
