The Wonder of the Night Sky

Written by Amos’ Nanny

One night, as usual, the children finished their dinner and played with each other, some were playing with toys, some were watching TV. Amos sat alone in the corner by the window, looking out through the glass. I watched him for a while.

I was curious as to what fascinated Amos so much that he kept staring at it. I walked over, sat beside him, and asked him, "Amos, what are you looking at?"

It was pitch black outside, and nothing could be seen.

Amos' gaze and expression did not change. I followed his gaze to look farther away, there were lights on some buildings, and the dark night sky was dotted with stars. The lights on the buildings and the vast night sky blend into a beautiful picture.

Amos raised his hand and pointed to the lights outside the window, and I said, "Yes, it's really beautiful."

Although he can't express himself well, Amos has an appreciation for beauty. He sees beauty and wants us to appreciate it with him.

The sky in the dark of night was fascinating. We sat and watched for a long, long time...
