Stories in the Lives of the Children

Many people want to know what the children in the “Savannah” and “Little Deer” projects are doing daily, what they are thinking, and what fun things are happening.

From the diaries the nannies have written, we have picked some interesting moments for you. These short stories allow us to learn more about the different personalities of the children, and show us how the nannies care about each moment of the children.

Story one

"Treat everyone equally, be sure no one is left behind"

Silas always misses the other children when they aren’t with him.

Often when his nanny is feeding him, he will push away her hand after taking two bites, and then pat the chair next to him.

His nanny asked him, "Is it because your sister didn't eat, so you want her to eat too?" Silas smiled happily when his nanny understood what he meant.

He wants to be with other children for everything, and no one can be left behind.

Silas is a warm hearted little boy, caring about every little friend in our family, and warming every nanny’s heart!

 Story two

Conquering fear

We took our children to the ball pit a few days ago. There was no one there so the boys were happy, thinking they could have a good time with no one else there!

I picked up Libby and put her into the ball pit, but her face became flushed and her whole body tightened. I realized that she was scared.

I quickly picked her up and sat with her in my arms, first I picked up a small ball to touch her, and slowly said to her, "Look Libby, the ball is soft and beautiful, isn't it? Let’s play with the balls together."

Her body slowly became less rigid, and the expression on her face relaxed, and she began looking around curiously.

I sat with her in the balls, and we watched the other children play. After a while, she tried to grab the balls with her hands, and then stepped on a ball with her feet... Gradually she stopped being afraid and started to laugh and play!

Brave Libby conquered her fear!

Story Three

I love bathing

The children were all vaccinated recently. The doctor ordered them not to take a bath the day of the injection. So we didn't arrange to give Rina a bath that night.

Unexpectedly, Rina was not happy during her usual bath time. Her nanny had to sit next to her and patiently explain to her why she wasn’t taking a bath. Her nanny promised her that she would only have to endure one day and that she could take a bath tomorrow.

When she understood a smile appeared on her face, she accepted the reason and fell asleep quietly.

Rina had developed a good habit, and wanted to know why it was changed!

Story Four

I want you to hear my voice

One day, Evangeline kept crying for some reason. As she sat in her positioning chair she would cry from time to time. We tried to give her a toy, or push her to the window, it didn't help.

A nanny who was busy in another part of the room seemed to realize what was wrong, so she told Samuel who was close by, "Samuel, Evangeline’s head is tilted incorrectly. Can you go over and help her?"

Evangeline’s cry stopped abruptly when she heard this sentence. It turned out that she just wanted her nanny to understand her needs.

Every day there are stories of understanding nannies helping children face challenges. Taking care of children with special needs requires professional and meticulous staff. With their daily hard work, the children in the project can receive high-quality care, and every day becomes full of hope.

Both the children and their nannies are important to us!

Love can change lives.
