NDSouth: Dani Gets Married!

Many of you will remember Dani - a young lady who grew up in one of our partner orphanages and spent 7-8 months at New Day South a couple of years ago for medical treatment.

How surprised and delighted we were recently to receive an invitation to her wedding!

The celebration began the night before with a supper at a nearby hotel for all of Dani's friends and classmates including her roommates from the orphanage.  The orphanage director and his staff were very involved in helping making this a special time for Dani.

Dani emerged from her hotel room bright and early the next morning to begin the festivities of her big day.

The wedding party loaded up in cars for the processional from the hotel to Dani's new home in her husband's village less than an hour away.

Trailing the entourage was a truck loaded with furniture, a new refrigerator, washing machine and other items for their new home.

Don't they make a lovely couple?

Of course no wedding (or any other gathering here in China) is complete without food, food and more food.  The crab and oysters were especially yummy!

So many friends, relatives and neighbors came to join in the celebration!

As is customary, Dani and her husband made the rounds to every table, handing out small gift items and receiving the well-wishes of all.

Dani, you are such a beautiful bride!
We are all so proud of you and wish you the best in life!

(Dani will continue to work at the orphanage during the week, helping out with the young children.)
